4 beds | 2.2 baths | 1.03 Acres | MLS/ID#: 3562002

A beautiful Colonial is set on over an acre of manicured and fenced property. This upgraded home includes fresh paint throughout, crown moldings, warmly-toned refinished floors and stunning kitchen and bath renovations. Located at the entrance to the Deerfield neighborhood in sought-after Mendham Borough, it is close to town, schools, and parks.

The front entry is graced by a crystal light fixture and custom rails on the staircase leading to the second floor. A convenient powder room and guest closet are tucked away to the left of the staircase. Opening from the foyer is a gracious formal living room where the fireplace with custom wood mantle creates a handsome focal point. Crown moldings, wood floors, and a large picture window enhance the room. The dining room, adjoining the living room, is fitted with built-in bookcases and offers views of the expansive rear yard.

The kitchen renovation includes sleek white cabinetry, marble countertops, stainless steel appliances and a mirrored glass subway tile backsplash with under-mount lighting.  An adjoining breakfast room has sliding glass doors leading to the stone patio. Stepping down from the breakfast room is the great room. Truly the heart of the home, this room has vaulted ceilings with recessed lighting and a ceiling fan. It is flooded by a multitude of windows, warmed by a raised hearth fireplace and serviced by a dry bar with wine refrigerator, backsplash and floating display shelving. A second powder room is located off the great room as is the mudroom leading to a side entry door.

Wood floors continue on the second level's gracious master bedroom with a spacious renovated master bath. This spa-like space has beautiful tile work, double vanity and an oversized shower with seamless barn-style shower doors. Three more nicely-proportioned bedrooms, all with crown moldings and wood floors, share a handsomely renovated hall bath.

On the lower level are recreation space and storage options. Additional storage needs are met in the two-car garage.

For outdoor entertaining, the blue stone patio features a stacked stone sitting wall and built-in grill.

Mendham Borough, NJ real estate market

About Mendham

Ranking first in New Jersey Monthly’s 2013 “Best Places to Live” survey, residents of Mendham Borough enjoy the historic setting of this quaint six-square-mile community--located in Morris County and surrounded on three sides by Mendham Township, with Bernardsville (Somerset County) to the south--plus the conveniences of a walkable downtown featuring boutique retail shopping and dining options, like the historic Black Horse Inn and Tavern. Other nearby stores located in the Village Shopping Center include a supermarket, pharmacy, and a hardware store as well as additional specialty retailers.

Traditions abound in Mendham Borough, with annual events that bring residents together to meet and mingle.  Music is in the air during the summer concert series and outdoor movie nights, when neighbors picnic in Borough Park.  The annual Labor Day Carnival and Parade is capped off by fireworks that signals it’s back-to-school season.  In December, kids and adults alike bundle up and sip hot cocoa as they warm their hands at the annual 12th Night Bonfire of Christmas trees, organized by the volunteer fire department.

Many children walk to the Borough’s public schools, Hilltop Elementary and Mountain View Middle School, greeted along the way by crossing guards whose smiles are familiar to all after their many years of service.  The West Morris Mendham High School is also located in Mendham, drawing students from Mendham Borough and Mendham Township, as well as the neighboring communities of Chester Borough, Chester Township and Washington Township.
